All Hallows’ Eve is the result of a collaboration between many talented individuals in the Commodore 64 demoscene coming from different groups. It has been created in 3 months, which is a very short time for a demo of this quality. We have been working all together on a slack channel, where we have been sharing ideas, feedback, and progress. I have none but good words to say about this experience - it’s incredible how much can be achieved when people work together with passion and dedication (and a strict deadline!). We have been in touch night and day for all the development time, and the whole team was coordinated by the design guys. The technical direction of the linking and demo structure was handled by my groupmate Sparta. I remember the day we released the demo, it was a moment of great joy and satisfaction for all of us. We were all very proud of what we had accomplished, and we were happy to see that the demo was well received by the community.
I created several parts of the demo, including the Zoom Scroller, the Dragon Bat and the Pumpkin Flex Plexer. I had the opportunity to work with my old friends psych8580 and Almighty God once more, and also getting to know new people and making new friends.
Most of the people involved in the demo met at X2023, and we had a chance to took a picture together. This demo is something i will always remember with great fondness, and I am very happy to have been part of it.
Just because making a 3 sided demo in a short time is not enough, we also decided to hide a game inside the demo. Trap coded it in a very short time, and it’s a fun little game where you have to slash the pumpkins that are flying around. The game can be started by running the fourth side.
